About

“Employment law doesn’t have to feel intimidating; it just needs to make sense”

Hi, I’m Jade, the founder of Ahead in HR Limited.

My journey into employment law wasn’t a straight line! I originally trained to become a barrister, while also teaching fitness classes, something I loved and did for around ten years. Eventually, my passion for helping people led me into a law firm, where I began as a paralegal before cross-qualifying as a solicitor.

I’ve now worked in employment law for over 14 years, supporting both employees and employers through a wide range of workplace issues. My work encompasses advising on settlement agreements, handling discrimination and unfair dismissal claims, representing clients at tribunals, conducting advocacy, and resolving complex contractual disputes. About four years ago, I took the leap to set up my own firm, and it’s honestly been the best decision I’ve ever made.

The difference between me and most HR advisors is that, as a qualified solicitor, I bring an in-depth understanding of employment law and litigation. I’m not just focused on resolving the immediate issue; I’m always thinking several steps ahead, helping my clients make decisions that avoid potential claims and complications in the future.

What I love most about my job is the people. Every client has their own story, and being able to guide and support them through often difficult times is what makes this work so rewarding.

Outside of work, I’m mum to my brilliant 10-year-old son, Oscar, and our home is never quiet thanks to our much-loved pets — Tank and Tubbs, our mischievous English Bulldogs, Lightning the snake (who lives up to the name), and Shelley the tortoise, who keeps us all grounded and moving at her own pace. They’re very much part of the family and make sure there’s never a dull moment!
